Lore Langendries

Lore Langendries (°1988) is a designer active in the field of contemporary jewellery and objects based in Hasselt, Belgium. In 2010 she received her Master’s degree in Arts from the MAD (Media, Arts and Design) Faculty in Hasselt. Since 2011 she has been preparing a PhD in Arts at the KU Leuven, the University of Hasselt and the MAD Faculty of Hasselt. Her research interests include the interaction between craft and industry, between the unique and the serial with a particular focus on (re)production, digital technology, tactility, the behaviour of materials and the subjective role of the designer. In her research entitled “Hunacturing (Un)Wearable objects”, Lore is questioning the nature of reproduction via an unconventional combination of natural materials, mechanical treatment and the human touch. In this way she creates jewellery and objects with a unique fingerprint within an industrial context.
